Care Instructions

General Care

  • Hand wash your board and inserts with mild soap and warm water immediately after use.
  • Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth or towel to prevent water damage.
  • Avoid soaking or submerging your board in water, as this can cause warping or cracking.

Conditioning Your Board

  • To maintain the natural beauty and durability of the wood, regularly condition your board with food-safe mineral oil or a wood conditioning wax.
  • Apply oil evenly across the surface, let it soak for 15–30 minutes, and wipe off any excess.
  • Condition your board once a month or more often if it begins to look dry.

Avoid the Following

  • Never place your board or inserts in the dishwasher, as the heat and water pressure can damage the wood.
  • Avoid using harsh detergents, bleach, or abrasive sponges, which can strip the finish and damage the surface.
  • Keep your board away from extreme heat or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent cracking.

Cleaning Tips for Inserts

  • Treat inserts with the same care as your board.
  • If the insert is engraved, use a soft-bristle brush to gently clean grooves without damaging the design.

Warranty

We stand by the craftsmanship and quality of our products. Each board and insert comes with a 1-Year Limited Warranty covering manufacturing defects and material flaws. Please review the details of our warranty policy below.

What’s Covered?

  • Cracking, splitting, or warping due to manufacturing defects.
  • Improperly secured or loose interchangeable insert fittings.
  • Defects in engraving or finishes on inserts.

What’s Not Covered?

  • Damage caused by improper use or care, including soaking, dishwashing, or exposure to extreme heat.
  • Normal wear and tear, including knife marks and minor surface scratches.
  • Damage resulting from accidents, misuse, or neglect.
  • Custom or personalized products unless defective upon receipt.

Warranty Claim Process

  1. Contact us at customerservice@blackdolphindesign.com with your order number, photos of the product, and a description of the issue.
  2. We will assess your claim and, if approved, provide a replacement or repair at no cost.
  3. In cases where repair or replacement is not feasible, we may offer a refund or store credit.

Your satisfaction is our top priority. If you’re not completely happy with your purchase, please reach out to us within 30 days of receiving your product, and we’ll work with you to find a resolution.
